Mangalore, Dec 6, 2013 : Alok Mohan, ADGP of State Internal Security Department has informed that the police forces of Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu will work together to combat the increasing Naxal activities in the Western Ghats.
Speaking to reporters after a meeting with senior police officials, the ADGP said a meeting of police officers of the three states have been held in Mysore and Trivendrum earlier this year. If the Mysore meet was held in March, a meeting at Trivendrum was held on November 27, the ADGP informed.
Alok Mohan also said there was a growing awareness in Karnataka about the Naxal menace and added the government has allocated Rs 9 crore in the current budget to combat Naxal activities. Even the Anti-Naxal Squad is equipped with better equipment, he informed.
