State govt pursuing ‘anti-Hindu’ policies, alleges VHP,huge protest planned

Mangaluru, Dec 21, 2014: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad which has charged the State Government of pursuing anti-Hindu policies has threatened to hold huge protests against the same.

Informing this to reporters here on December 20, Saturday, VHP  leader MB Puranik said the  organisation would demand the resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah over the issue. He slammed the state government for withdrawing the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Bill 2010 and the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Preservation (Amendment) Bill 2012 much to the opposition of the Hindu organisations.

He also charged that the government’s move aimed at appeasing the minorities. Puranik further urged the government to strengthen the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Cattle Preservation Act, 1964 which still exists.

The VHP leader also expressed opposition to the Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowment (Amendment) Bill 2014 and stated that instead of taking over Mutts which are facing complaints the issues should be sorted out in courts.

Krishnamurthy, VHP leader , Sharan Pumpwell of Bhajrangdal and others were present.
