Mangalore, July 4, 2014 : Students of the St Theresa’s School at Bendore in the city have drawn the attention of the Traffic police authorities towards some problems faced by them due to the new traffic rules enforced recently.
They aired their woes with Uday M Nayak, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic) who interacted with the students on July 4, Friday.
The ACP said the one-way rule from Bendore to Balmatta Circle aimed at easing traffic congestion.
A student pleaded the traffic police to provide for a zebra crossing and speed breaker to help students cross the road. She said so while pointing out to the fact that the one-way rule has made motorists drive at great speed.
The ACP who took note of the problem assured to consider the demand.
Yet another student said buses do not halt near the school and children had to walk all the way up to St Agnes College to board a bus. The Traffic ACP assured to talk to the bus operators to give a stop near the school in the best interests of the students.
