Sri Rama Sene stages protest against V-Day celebrations

Mangalore, Feb 14, 2014 : Sri Rama Sene  activists staged a protest in front of the Besant College in the city on February 14, Friday, opposing Valentine’s Day celebrations.

 

 

Kumar Malemar, District President of Sri Rama Sena said the Sena strongly opposed  the Western culture of celebrating Valentine’s Day.  He said the Sena had already visited various shops asking the shopkeepers not to sell V-Day cards.

‘The Sri Rama Sena has also warned hotels against organising Valentine’s day events,” he said and added the district administration itself will be blamed in case of any untoward incident.

The activists later burnt Valentine’s Day cards which they said were collected from some shops selling the same.
