Mangaluru, Aug 31, 2018: Dakshina Kannada district administration will celebrate Sri Krishna Jayanti at the Mini Town Hall here on September 2.

Mosaru Kudike :  Sri Krishna Janmamahotsava Samithi, Kadri, will organise the 49th annual Mosaru Kudike at Kadri on September 3 from 7.30 p.m. Cultural programmes will begin at 6.30 p.m.


Further, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Kannada Sahitya Parishat and Kalkura Pratishthana President Pradeep Kumar Kalkura said that the national festival of children - Sri Krishna Vesha - will be conducted by Kalkura Prathishthana on the premises of Kadri Sri Manjunatha Temple in Mangaluru from 9 am to 12 noon on September 2, on the account of Sri Krishna Janmashthami.

Addressing media  at Sharada Vidyalaya in Mangaluru on Thursday, Kalkur said that the Krishna Vesha competitions are being held for the last 33 years and the upcoming event will be the 34th.

The categories are as follows: Kanda Krishna (below one year), Muddu Krishna (below two years), Tunta Krishna (below three years), Bala Krishna (Balavadi, anganwadi and LKG children), Kishora Krishna (UKG and first standard), Shree Krishna (2nd, 3rd and 4th standard), Geetha Krishna (up to seventh standard), Yaksha Krishna (up to class 10), Radha Krishna (couple - up to class 7), Yashoda Krishna (mother and child), Shankha Nada and Shankha Udghosha (conch blowing competition), Devaki Krishna (mother and child), Vasudeva Krishna (father and child) and Nandagolkula (group).

These apart, there will be Balakrishna Quiz competition (up to class 7), Sri Krishna Quiz (above class 7), Chaya Krishna (photography competition), Sri Krishna gana vaibhava (singing) and Sri Krishna varna vaibhava (drawing) and Rangoli. Sri Krishna Katha drawing competition will be the new event for this year.

The Krishna Vesha will be held in nine venues - Sri Krishna Janmotsava Samiti main stage, Abhisheka Hall (first and second floor), Kalyana Mantapa, Ashwatha Katte, Ganapathi Temple and the nearby locations within the temple premises.

Attractive prizes will be awarded to the winners. All participating children will be given a five-metal alloy idol of Lord Krishna, along with a copy of Bhagavadgeeta and other gifts, said Pradeep Kumar Kalkura.
