Sports to get top notch facilities in Udupi

Udupi, May 26, 2015: Speaking at the inaugural function of the basketball court at the Mahatma Gandhi District Stadium, K. Abhayachandra Jain, Minister of State for Sports and Youth Services, said on May 26, Tuesday that facilities will be provided to develop sports in Udupi district. The basketball court and other facilities at the stadium, including the two pavilions, have been constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.31 crore.
Oscar Fernandes, MP, inaugurated the basketball court, he said that basketball should be encouraged in all schools. Pramod Madhwaraj, MLA, was present amidst sports enthusiast who cheered the occasion. .
