Mangaluru, Feb 3, 2017 : Mriga Bete Utsav was held at Shree Venkatramana Temple at Carstreet on February 2, Thursday as part of the Annual Car Festival of Lord Veera Venkatesha.
The Utsav Murthi of Lord Srinivas was placed in a beautifully decorated silver chariot and was offered pooja at Dongerakeri Katte. Later the Mriga Bete Utsav began after Kashinath Acharya, the priest of the Temple symbolically shot an arrow from the bow. Two volunteers who posed as animals and were hunted down as well as other devotees were distributed Prasadam.
Thousands of devotees were soaked in devotion as they witnessed this spectacular annual event. The Utsav procession passed through Dongerakeri, New Chitra Talkies, Chamaragalli and Carstreet.
Later the Saan Theru or Sanna Rathotsava was held with great grandeur.
