Special wing to ensure higher conviction rate in criminal says new Police Commissioner

Mangaluru, Feb 28, 2023: City’s new Police Commissioner Kuldeep Kumar R Jain has said that emphasis would be laid on follow-up of court cases to ensure increase in the rate of conviction. A separate wing will be set up for the purpose, he said adding that increase in the rate of conviction would also prove a deterrent to criminal activities while sending a strong message to criminals.

He said the follow-up of cases will be done under the  supervision of DCP (Law and Order)  and CCRB. He also stated that old cases pending in courts will be given more attention.

Emphasising the need to strengthen beat system, the Commissioner said a beat meeting will be held once in 10 days. He said the social media monitoring cell was functioning efficiently.
