Special trains between Mumbai Central - Mangaluru Junction for Christmas

Mangaluru, Dec 21, 2016 : Konkan Railway in coordination with Western Railway has decided to run special trains on special fare between Mumbai Central - Mangaluru Junction - Mumbai Central to clear extra rush of passengers during Christmas festival. Train 09009 Mumbai Central - Mangalore junction weekly special train on special fare will leave from Mumbai Central at 11.15pm on December 28 and January 4, 2017 and reach Mangalore junction at 7.30pm, the next day.

 

christmas 21 decTrain 09010 Mangaluru junction - Mumbai Central weekly special train on special fare will leave Mangaluru junction at 10.30pm on December 29 and January 5, 2017 and train will reach Mumbai Central at 5.50pm, the next day. Train will have 15 coaches and halt at Borivali, Vasai Road, Panvel, Roha, Khed, Chiplun, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Thivim, Karmali, Madgaon, Karwar, Kumta, Bhatkal, Mookambika Road Byndoor, Kundapur, Udupi, Mulki and Surathkal stations.



In view of recent decision taken by Government of India to promote cashless transactions, payment through electronic means, Konkan Railway has decided to install Point of Sale (POS) machines at various locations to allow cashless transaction using debit/credit cards. To facilitate the passengers, 13 POS machines have been installed at public reservation system locations at Khed, Chiplun, Sawantwadi Road, Ratnagiri, Kudal, Kankavli, Thivim, Karmali, Panaji booking office, Madgaon, Karwar, Mookambika Road Byndoor and Udupi from December 20 in Ist phase with the help of IDFC bank .


This facility will be further extended on other locations like current ticket booking windows, parcel offices etc. wherever there is cash transaction. Apart from this, cashless transaction is already functioning on Konkan Railway for RORO service at Kolad, Verna and Surathkal through closed user group card (CUG).
