Mangaluru, Aug 29, 2019 : The South Western Railway (SWR) has decided to run a Ganapati special tatkal train between Bengaluru and Mangaluru to cater to the festival rush following demands from people and request from Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje.
Train No. 06551 Yeshwantpur-Mangaluru Junction Tatkal Special would leave Yeshwantpur at 10.20 pm on Friday to reach Mangaluru Junction at 8.30 am on Saturday via Chikkabanavar (10.30 pm), Kunigal (11.30 pm), Shravanabelagola (12.20 am), Channarayapatna (12.32 am), Hassan (1.45 am), Sakleshpur (2.55 am), Subrahmanya Road (6.15 am), Kabaka Puttur (7.10 am) and Bantwal (7.40 am).
In the return trip however, the train would operate between Mangaluru Junction and Yelahanka, leaving Mangaluru Junction at 10.15 pm on Monday to reach Yelahanka at 8 am on Tuesday bypassing Yeshwantpur via Bantwal (11 pm), Kabaka Puttur (11.26 pm), Subrahmanya Road (12.20 am), Sakleshpur (2.55 am), Hassan (4.10 am), Channarayapatna (5.10 am), Shravanabelagola (5.24 am), Kunigal (6.27 am) and Chikkabanavara (6.45 am).
The train would have 12 second class sleeper, one 3-Tier AC and two luggage-cum-brake vans, in all 15 coaches.
