Udupi, June 24, 2016: Former urban development minister Vinay Kumar Sorake has said that there was no question of him rebelling against the party leadership.
Speaking to reporters here on June 23, Thursday, he said he will continue to remain a loyal Congress worker and strive to strengthen the party. He said it was the Congress which had provided him ample opportunities by offering him good positions.
Stating that the chief minister has not cited any reason for dropping him from the cabinet, he said he never intended to blame anyone. However he said he has asked senior leaders for an explanation and added he would decide on his future course of action later on.
A large number of admirers of Sorake had gathered outside the Rajeev Bhavan at Kaup to express their protest against the CM’s action of dropping Sorake from the cabinet. In fact the leader had a tough time pacifying his supporters. The people who had gathered withdrew the protest after Sorake requested them to do so.
Several local Congress leaders namely Sarasu D Bangera, Diwaker Shetty, Naveenchandra Shetty and others were present.
