Solo bike mission for Swami Vivekananda message

Mangalore, Oct 5, 2014:  M Vivekananda Shenoy of Mangalore has traversed 7,200 kms solo on his bike, covering five states with a mission of taking Swami Vivekanandas message of "Say no to drugs", to a large section of people, especially students. Speaking to media, he said that the journey was conducted in association with Ramakrishna mission, Mangalore, and funded by Jnana Shakthi Vikashana trust.

“The ride commenced on September 23 at Ramakrishna mutt in Mangalore, covered Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and concluded in Mangalore. En route, all 31 Ramakrishna Ashrams were visited and several schools on the National Highway to spread the message. About 3000 pocket calenders, which propagate the message were distributed to people including students,” Shenoy told.


The Yathra was to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.  Jita Kamanand of Ramakrishna mutt, Mangalore was also present on the occasion.
