Mangaluru, Oct 13, 2016: Speaking at a programme organised by Boscoss Publications at Besant College in Mangaluru on Oct 11, Wednesday, former DySP Anupama Shenoy pointed out that it is a myth that social media can make a revolution.

They are meant for purpose of communication. Students should not involve their emotions in social networking sites.  She lamented that social networking sites like Facebook are misused for making disrespectful remarks on women. She suggested the students to try some new avenues and try to excel in that field .

Stating that Karnataka politics is marred by corruption, she said all political parties want to come to power so that they can accumulate wealth. The closing down of Lokayukta is unfortunate, she said. Anupama later spoke on the preparation for civil service examinations and interacted with students.

Meritorious students who have excelled in competitive examinations, Madhu, Ashitha and Aishwarya Mathew were felicitated.
