Mangaluru, Sep 17, 2017: A 35-year-old resident of Kozhikode in Kerala, who was allegedly escaped from security personnel at the Mangaluru International Airport after they caught him for illegal possession of cannabis on Friday, was arrersed near the railway station here on Saturday September 16.
According to a sources, Mohammed Haneef came to the airport in the evening to catch a flight to Doha. Following a search of the baggage, security personnel allegedly seized 4.5 kg of cannabis concealed in a bag carried by Haneef. As baggages of other passengers were being checked, Haneef managed to escape.
He has been produced in court and remanded in judicial custody for further investigation.
