Mangaluru, May 14, 2016: It is reported that Water level at the Thumbe vented dam went up by four inches on may 13, Friday due to the rain in Thumbe, B.C. Road and Bantwal areas.
An official of the MCC, Mangaluru City Corporation, water storage level at the dam stood at 4.4 ft on May 13,Friday against the maximum of 13 ft. The official indicated that rain across Dakshina Kannada on May 12,Thursday evening had not helped in resuming inflow in the Netravathi river course. Water level slightly went up mainly because of rain in the surrounding areas of the dam. But the level would drop again to 4 ft. after pumping.
Meanwhile, according to the office of DK DC, the district recorded 174.7 mm rainfall in 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. on May 13, Friday. Bantwal recorded 46.1 mm, Belthangady 30 mm, Mangaluru 21.3 mm, Puttur 19.8 mm, Sullia 18.4 mm, Kadaba 8 mm and Mulki 12.7 mm rain.
