Slaughter house raid provokes clashes in Uppinangady

Puttur, July 13, 2015: The raid in an unauthorized slaughter house by the police near Uppinangady in Puttur taluk provoked clashes on Sunday.


Communal fight


The saffron fundamentalist group allegedly assaulted five people of other community at Golithottu Village on Sunday evening.


The injured victims have been identified as Haris (28) Fairoz (29) Abdurrahman (39) and Hyder (27), residents of Golithotttu.

It is learnt that before attacking, the assailants informed the Uppinangady police about the unauthorized slaughterhouse situated near Volalu, which was owned by Idinabba.


Soon the police reached the spot and arrested three people and seized two calves and a weighing machine. The arrested victims are Zainuddin, Abdurrahman and Muhammed Asif.

The atmosphere turned violent that armed force was deployed to control the situation after people of two communities started to clash. The police are yet to arrest the assailants.


Rural circle inspector Anil S Kulkarni and Kadaba sub inspector Yogesh Kumar also visted the spot.
