Mangaluru, Nov 14, 2017: Six Indira canteens will come up at Attavar, Derebail, Kunjathbail, Idya and Ullal and the same will function from January next year, informed Mayor Kavitha Sanil. She said a master kitchen will also come up to supply food to the canteens.
Speaking to reporters here she said breakfast will be served for Rs 5 and lunch and dinner for Rs 10 in the canteens.
The master kitchen will come up close by the Indira canteen that will be opened at Derebail, the Mayor informed. The canteens will be constructed by the Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Corporation at a cost of Rs 2.97 crores, she said and added that a Committee led by the Deputy Commissioner will monitor the implementation of the canteens.
She said as many as 38 water connections have been disconnected for not paying water bills and added that so far only 42 percent of citizens have paid property tax. She also made an appeal to traders who have not renewed their licenses to renew the same. There will be no water supply in city on November 15 owing to some technical works, the Mayor informed.
