Siddaramaiah visits Pachanady garbage slip site; demands compensation for locals

Mangaluru, Aug 31 3019: Senior Congress leader and former chief minister Siddaramaiah who visited the Pachanady garbage slip site on August 31, Saturday, heard the woes of the locals and said those displaced should be provided compensation and suitably rehabilitated.
Former minister U T Khader who accompanied Siddaramaiah narrated the problems faced by residents of the area due to the garbage slip as well as the measures taken by the Mangaluru City Corporation.
Siddaramaiah also stated that there was an urgent need to clear the garbage that has slipped from the land fill site.
Former MLA Moidin Bava, MLC Ivan D’Souza and others were present.
