Though Siddaramaiah was all set to allocate portfolios on Saturday itself, he could not do so because many seniors, especially old timers in the party, opposed the “light weight” portfolios offered to them. A day after, he budged a bit by giving additional portfolios to aggrieved ministers.

Siddaramaiah also kept four of his close associates in good humour by giving them key portfolios. While V Srinivas Prasad has been given revenue, H C Mahadevappa has been made public works minister, H S Mahadev Prasad has got co-operation and Satish Jarakiholi has been given excise. R V Deshpande has been given portfolios of Higher Education and Tourism, according to an official notification.

T B Jayachandra would be the Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister. He would also look after Animal Husbandry department. H K Patil has been given Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department

U T Khadar gets Health and Family Welfare portfolio. Ramanath Rai will be the Forest and Environment minister. Abhayachandra Jain will be Youth Services and Fisheries minister with independent charge. Vinay Kumar Sorake gets Urban Development.

Ramalinga Reddy has got Transport.Former Union Ministers V Srinivasa Prasad and M H Ambareesh would be the new Revenue and Housing Ministers respectively.
