Siddalingiah urges Govt to implement Mahajan Commission Report

Moodbidri, Nov 17, 2014 : The demand for the merger of Kasargod with Karnataka came to centre stage once again when eminent writer Siddalingaiah while participating in the valedictory of Alva’s Nudisiri here on November 16, Sunday raised the issue and made a strong case for the implementation of the Mahajan Commission Report.

Siddalingaiah who chaired the 11th Edition of Alva’s Nudisiri also urged the state government to take the initiative and help the Kasargod Kannadigas to achieve their long cherished dream of being a part of Karnataka.

It may be recalled here that the Justice Mahajan Commission had way back in the year 1968 recommended the merger of north Kasargod district with Karnataka. The Commission was constituted after the movement demanding the merger had intensified.
