Sharath murder case : No arrests even after 2 weeks

Mangalore Today News Network

Bantwal,July 20,2017  : The six police teams  which are  undertaking an investigation into the case of murder of RSS activist Sharath Madivala at B C Road   have still not made any headway though it has been over two weeks since the incident took place. Sources say the cops are still clueless about the killers.

Sharath murder case Though IGP (Western Range) Harishekharan had indicated a few days ago that the police have gained hands on some clinching evidence, so far  there has been no  major development in the investigation process. Even ADGP Alok Mohan who had visited the district recently had  also spoken about some vital clues  but of no avail.

Though a CCTV camera in the area where the murder took place had captured three assailants escaping from the spot after attacking Sharath,  the images lacked clarity making it difficult for the police to  identify them.

As of now police have arrested 13 persons on the charges of stone pelting during the cavalcade procession carrying Sharath’s body.

The Uttara Kriya of Sharath is slated to be held at Lord Vinayaka Shankernarayana Durgamba Temple hall at Nandavar on July 20, Thursday.  The  BJP has also planned a meeting at 12 noon to pay tributes to Sharath.   ASP Dr Arun has  stated that security  in the area would be stepped up in the wake of the programme.
