Mangaluru, July 11,2017: Reports confirm that thieves stole cash, gold, silver items worth at least Rs 7 lakhs from Shankaranarayana temple at Kumble town in Kasaragod district on July 8, Saturday late night. The incident came into light when the priest entered to do the pujas the next day.
The thieves managed to break the door of the sanctum to took away the valuables. The owners of the temple, advocate V Balakrishna Shetty and others registered a complaint with Kumble police.
Kumble police arrived at the temple and took fingerprints and other relevant investigations are in progress. The temple has very poor security and no CCTV as well.
