Belthangady, Feb 17, 2017: Reports point to the fact that the sixth additional district and session’s court on Feb 16, Thursday sentenced a person convicted of rape to seven years rigorous imprisonment.
The accused is Praveen, 29, resident of Kerekodi House in Malavanthige village in Belthangady taluk who sexually took advantage of a woman on the pretext of marrying her and later ditched her. The accused was already married and he was also charged with cheating the victim.
Police said the other accused in this case - Nagesh is still facing trial. He had gone missing since the case came to light, police said adding that trial against him commenced at a later date. Nagesh introduced Praveen to the victim and has been treated as an abettor, police said adding that since Praveen was in judicial custody and his trial in the incident that took place in 2015 was going on, the court held him guilty and sentenced him to undergo imprisonment.

Just seven years of imprisonment i not enough for rape , Because the entire future of the girl is destroyed due to this but the man who has committed this will be free once he comes out of prison. |
