He has been convicted under Sections 376, 328, 302, 392,301, 366, 394, 417, 465, 468 and 473 of IPC.

The court is expected to give its verdict in the third murder case of Sunanda of Sullia, on Wednesday, December 18, 2013.

Here it is worth mentioning that Mohan Kumar was arrested on October 21, 2009 after the police intensified investigation into the case of the mysterious missing of Anitha on June 17 that year.

The investigation led them to the arrest of Mohan when the murders of 21 young women which he had executed  by  cleverly giving them cyanide pills after making them believe it to be contraceptive pills, stood exposed.

What was more shocking was to know that this serial killer who hailed from Kanyana in Bantwal taluk had served as a temporary teacher in a primary school at Angadi  in Kanyana  from 1980 to 2003. It is learnt, he later took to the heinous task of luring young women and then killing them after promising marriage.

The trial in the murder cases had commenced in the then fast track court in November 2011 and later shifted to the Fourth Additional and District Sessions Court.
