Kundapur, Feb 14, 2020: DK District in-charge Minister and State Minister for Mujrai Kota Srinivas Poojary has said that district level seminars will be organised in all districts of the state to create awareness on the mass marriage programmes to be organised by the Mujrai Department in various "A" division Mujrai Temples of the state on April 26.
Addressing a meeting convened to discuss the issue at Kollur on February 14, Thursday, the Minister said letters will be written to all elected representatives in the state seeking their co-operation for this ambitious programme.
He also said sandalwood actor Yash and Sudhamurthi of Infosys Foundation would be the ambassadors of this programme and would reach out to the people through audio and visual media.
The beneficiaries of the mass marriage scheme would get wedding attires, golden thali worth Rs 55,000 apart from Rs 10,000 fixed deposit under Adarsha Vivaha scheme. Beneficiaries belonging to scheduled caste would get an aid of Rs 50,000 under the simple marriage scheme of the Social Welfare Department, he said.
The mass marriage will be held on April 26 and the last date for registration is March 27. Applications should be obtained from the Temple Executive officers and submitted after duly filling them and attaching necessary documents.
He also said various private organisations have come forward to provide gifts for the newlyweds.
Kollur Temple Managing Committee President Harish Kumar Shetty, Temple Executive Officer Aravinda Suttagundi, Assistant Executive Officer Krishnamurthi and others were present.
