Mangaluru, June 16,2017 : Prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Indian Penal Code will be in force in all police station limits of Bantwal, Puttur, Sullia and Belthangady taluks except City Police Commissionerate limits till June 14, Wednesday midnight in the backdrop of the clashes in Kalladka on June 13 wherein two people including District chief of Hindu Jagarana Vedike suffered stab injuries.
The administration has decided to extend prohibitory orders in four district including Mangaluru till June 21 , after taking stock of the current situation.
The clash broke out on June 13 evening between people of two communities. The warring groups even hurled stones at each other. HJV District Chief Ratnaker Shetty and Khaleel who are injured have been hospitalised.
The miscreants even damaged several vehicles and shops had to down shutters.
Police are maintaining strict vigil to avert any untoward incident.
