Sasthan toll gate staff accused of assaulting commuter; complaint lodged

Kundapur, May 22, 2017 : An incident wherein the staff of the toll gate at Sasthan  allegedly assaulted a commuter has been reported on May 21, Sunday.  The injured person Prabhaker Shetty from Baikady who has sustained serious injuries in his eye apart from injuries on his hands and legs, has  lodged a complaint against the staff.

It has been gathered that  the gate of the toll gate fell on the car of Shetty who was  on way to Byndoor with his son. As a quarrel ensued the toll gate staff and some other men reportedly  abused and assaulted Prabhaker.

The toll gate staff however has countered the claims of Prabhaker and  said that they had tried to settle the issue amicably and also that Prabhaker has assaulted them.

 A few days ago, a woman from Suratkal had also lodged a complaint  against the toll gate staff accusing them of abusing her.

The toll gate which is quite spacious has only one CCTV camera which is not in a position to capture all happenings at the place.
