Sapling Plantation Drive on the occasion of World Environment Day

Mangaluru, Jun 06, 2019 : Nehru Yuva Kendra Mangalore, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, conducted Sapling Plantation Drive in association with Mangaluru City Police Commisionerate, Mangaluru on occasion of World Environment Day 2019.
The program was presided by Mr. Sandip Patil IPS, Commissioner, Mangaluru City Police. Nehru Yuva Kendra Mangalore District Youth Coordinator Mr. Raghuveer Souterpete coordinated the program and conveyed message on how we can reduce carbon emissions.
Mr. Sandip Patil IPS, Commissioner, Mangaluru City Police, inaugurated the function by planting a sapling at Pandeshwar Police Station. By this the sapling plantation drive to plant saplings in all the police stations within the police commissionarate limits was started. Mr. Laxmi Ganesh, DCP (Crime & Traffic) also planted a sapling. Mr. Sandip Patil IPS, Commissioner, Mangaluru City Police, delivered the keynote address regarding the importance of taking care of our environment and reduce air pollution. Mr. Raghuveer Souterpete conveyed message on how we can reduce carbon emissions.

In the Program Nehru Yuva Kendra Mangalore District Youth Coordinator Mr. Raghuveer Souterpete conveyed message on how we can reduce carbon emissions & gave innovative ideas by which we can lead a sustainable lifestyle by using as less energy as possible. Saplings were distributed to the attendees as well.
Jeeth Milan Roach, Environmentalist inaugurated the event. Youth Volunteers & the public participated in the event.
In the program, Mr. Mahesh, President of Prajwal Yuvaka Mandal(R) pledged to plant 1000 saplings.
