Mangaluru, Feb 11, 2020: A community assistance centre (Samudaya Sahaya Kendra) at the Out Patient Department of District Wenlock Hospital was inaugurated on February 11, Tuesday by DK District in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the new centre would be a great boon to the thousands of patients who visit the hospital everyday, by providing them information regarding the various departments, wards and amenities in the hospital. The Minister also assured measures to fill in vacancies of staff in the hospital.
Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh said the new Samudaya Sahaya Kendra is a welcome initiative.
MLA Vedavyas Kamath who was the chief guest distributed jackets to the volunteers of the new centre and the students of Red Cross unit.
Shantharam Shetty, Chairman of the DK District unit of Indian Red Cross Society, Dr Rajeshwari Devi, Wenlock Superintendent and others were present.
