Samithi to file PIL in High Court against Yettinahole Project: Vijaykumar Shetty

Mangalore, Mar 5, 2014: Vijaykumar Shetty, President of the Karavali Jeevanadi Samrakshana Samithi and former MLA has said that the Samithi will now fight the Yettinahole Project in the court. A PIL will be filed in the High Court, he informed.

Speaking to reporters in the city on March 4, Tuesday, he expressed his gratitude to the people of the district for their wholehearted support to the bundh against the implementation of the Netravathi Diversion Project in the guise of Yettinahole Project. Claiming that the agitation has now taken the form of a people’s movement he said the fight will continue till the project is dropped.

He also charged CM Siddaramaiah of making false claims regarding the project during the foundation laying function.

Activist MG Hegde who also spoke demanded the resignation of State Health Minister UT Khader as Kolar District in-charge Minister. He demanded that Khader should support the people of his district in the fight against the project.

Dinaker Shetty, Legal Advisor of All College Students’ Association said the  Association along with other organisations will wear black bands and  protest against Union Minister Veerappa Moily and former CM DV Sadananda Gowda  during their visits to the district.
