Mangalore, March 28, 2014: A total of 35,011 students including 18559 boys and 16452 girls from Dakshina Kannada district are appearing for the SSLC exams which commenced on March 28, Friday. As many as 8,26,269 students are appearing for the exams across the state. The exams will be held upto April 19.
The district has 101 examination centres, while there are five centres for private candidates appearing for the exams. Medical teams with physicians have also been stationed at examination centres in case students need any assistance.
The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board has made elaborate arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the exams. An area of 200 meters radius around the examination centre have been declared prohibited and Xerox centres close by examination centres have also been asked to shut down during the exams. Two police personnel have also been deployed at each centre.
