Ujire, Oct 02, 2018 : Shri KshetraDharmasthala Rural Development Project, working for the upliftment of the rural poor in the state of Karnataka, has entered into a MOU with Life Insurance Corporation of India to provide life insurance cover to around60 lakh Self-help group members of SKDRDP through its flagship “JeevaBimaBhadrathe” scheme. The purpose of this scheme is to cover the micro-credit given to the members of self-help group and their families in case of death during the coverage. LIC of India has provided the life insurance cover under its group insurance policy.
In this connection a special programme was arranged on 01st October,2018 at Dharmasthala where in Sri T.C.Suseel Kumar, Zonal Manager, LIC of India,South Central Zonal office, Hyderabad handed over the Master Policy to the Dharmadhikari of Shri KshethraDharmasthala Sri D.VeerendraHeggade.
Sri T C Suseel Kumar, Zonal Managerstated that this isa mega scheme being administered by LIC of India to provide life insurance cover to the rural masses by bringing in the financial security to the family of these members in the event of unfortunate death of borrower member. Mr D.VeerendraHeggade, while lauding the role played by LIC of India in the field of life insurance in India, appreciated the benefits that this group insurance scheme gives to the members through this micro credit insurance, serving the purpose of financial inclusion of all the borrower members of the SKDRDP.
Senior Officials of both the institutions including Sri Dr.L.H.Manjunath, Executive Director, Sri M.K.Abraham, Director( Sampoornasuraksha) and Sri D.Jayaram, Director ( Suvidha) from SKDRDP and Sri G.Satyanarayana Sastry, Regional Manager, Hyderabad, Sri P.Vishveshwar Rau, Senior Divisional Manager, Divisional office, Udupi and Sri Y.S.Ashok, Divisional Manager, Pension and Group schemes, Mangalore from Life Insurance Corporation of India were present on the occasion.
