Mangalore, Jun 27, 2013: The Students Federation of India staged the protest in front of SFI district office on June 27, Thursday urging the police officials to make a thorough investigation into the case of Manipal gang rape and to give strict punishment to the rapists.
Addressing the protestors SFI district President Nithin Kuthar said that the police must strive to secure justice to the victim and her family. Stating that the people have reposed faith in the Congress government, he said any delay in probing such cases will make people lose faith in the government.
Referring to the Sowjanya rape and murder case reported from Belthangady last year, he said the culprit has not yet been traced and the family deprived of justice. The police, he said has failed in arresting the real accused in the case. He also warned of a violent protest in front of the police station if the police failed to undertake a thorough probe into the case.
