Rs 2000 cr grants to district in past five year period : MP Nalin Kumar Kateel

Mangaluru, Mar 06, 2023: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has said that the Union and State Governments, during the past five year period have provided Rs 2,000 crore grants to the district for various developmental projects.

He was speaking after inaugurating and laying foundation for various developmental projects worth Rs 320 crores on behalf of Mangaluru City Corporation and Smart City Ltd on March 5, Sunday.

He said under Smart City scheme various works have been done with Rs 414 crore aid from the State government and Rs 392 crore aid from the Centre.

He further aid Smart City scheme would require 20 years for completion. Funds have been sanctioned for upgradation facilities at Wenlock and Ladygoschen Hospitals under Smart city. An international level swimming pool is also ready for inauguration, he added.

MLA Vedavyas Kamath presided over the function. Mayor Jayananda Anchan, Deputy Mayor Poornima, Deputy Commissioner Ravi Kumar M R, MUDA Chairman Ravishanker Mijar and others were present.
