Mangalore, December 7: Rosario High School organized a district-level Youth Parliament Competition for high school students under the auspices of the Public Infrastructure Department, Parliamentary Affairs Department, and Rosario High School. A number of high school students, mostly girls, from all over the district participated in the competition.
The programme was inaugurated by Richard Lobo, the joint secretary of the Parliamentary Affairs Department, who said that such competitions will make students aware of the democratic system. Fr. Stany Govias, the convener of Rosario Education Institution, presided over the programme.
C. Chamegowda, the deputy director of the Public Instructions Department (DK), delivered the welcome address. Aloysius D’Souza, the principal of Rosario High School, proposed the vote of thanks. The MC was Elizabeth Fernandes. Lecturer Thimmappa was the judge of the event.
Dayavathi, the block education officer; Surekha, the nodal officer; and Narasimha Bhat, the inspector for Kannada subject, were also present.
