Mangaluru, Feb 4, 2017: Ronald Anil Fernandes, Mangaluru Bureau Chief of Deccan Herald is among the 15 outstanding journalists who have been selected for the Karnataka Madhyama Academy Awards for the year 2016. The Awards carrying a cash prize of Rs 10,000 will be presented during the annual programme of the Academy.
The other journalists who have won the Awards are : H R Sreesha, Senior journalist from Bengaluru ; Shantala Dharmaraj, Samyuktha Karnataka, Mysuru ; G Veeranna, Vijayavani, Ballari ; Siddiqui Aldoori, Senior Journalist, Chikkamagaluru ; Cheeni Purushotham, Udayavani, Tumakuru ; A C Prabhakr, Mysuru Mitra, Chamarajanagar ; Ujjini Rudrappa, Kannada Prabha, Koppala ; Hemanthkumar, Indian Express, Bengaluru ; Ramaswamy, Ee Sanje, Ramanagar ; Shankerappa Husanappa Chalavadi, Hucha Patrike, Bagalkote ; Nagaraja Sunagara, Udaya TV, Dharwad ; Anil Kumar Hosamani, Bahujananayaka, Vijayapura ; Malathesha Angoora, Kaurava Patrike, Haveri ; K H Chandru, photographer, Mysuru.
Meanwhile, the Andolana Award given to an outstanding district level daily has been bagged by Shivamogga Times, while the Abhimani Award for best write-ups on social issues has been awarded to Udayavani’s Chandrashekhar More for his write-up ’Sankashtadalli Kaujalagi Ningamma Parijatha Company’.
The ’Mysuru Diganta’ award, presented to the best write-up on humanitarian issues is bagged by C G Rajeev from Vijaya Karnataka for his write-up ’Enne Nammooranne Nasha Madtha ide’.
Snehapriya Nagaraj won the Aragini Award for best film journalism. The Dr B R Ambedkar Mookanayaka Award for best columnist has been bagged by Dr Nataraj Huliyar.
