Mangaluru, Mar 13, 2024: Mayor Sudhir Shetty Kannur has said that the Road from Circuit House to Bejai Circle will be named after late George Fernandes, a great socialist leader, son of the soil and former defence minister.

He said the government has approved the proposal for naming the road as per the proposal put forth by the Standing Committee after it was discussed in the council meeting. He said he himself had put forth the proposal during the tenure of Jayanand Anchan as Mayor.

He thanked Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Urban Development Minister Byrathi Suresh for approving the proposal.
