Road accidents in Bhatkal, Kasaragod native dead, 17 injured

Bhatkal, Sep 14, 2017: A lorry driver from Manjeshwar of Kasaragod district died on the spot while 17 others survived with injuries after a series of road accidents occurred at Bhatkal on Sept 13, Wednesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Nihadi Abdullah GM (35). The incident occurred when the deceased was plying to Kerala from Goa carrying fish load.

The accident occurred as the Hubballi bounded private bus, Ganesh Prasad from Mangaluru collided with the lorry coming from its opposite side. Soon after the collision, a speeding Sugama bus hit the rear side of Ganesh Prasad causing for another accident.

The driver of Ganesh Prasad has been injured seriously and is being treated in a hospital in Mangaluru while Sugama bus driver Gause Saheb (58) and cleaner Lokesh (24) are reportedly survived with injuries.
