Mangaluru, Jan 30, 2016 : Rich tributes were paid to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhiji on the occasion of his 68th death anniversary, at the District Congress Office on January 30, Saturday. A two minute silence was also observed as a mark of respect to the Mahatma who fell victim to the assassin’s bullets on this fateful day in 1948.
In his address, DK District in-charge Minister and State Minister for Forest and Ecology B Ramanatha Rai said Gandhiji’s ideals and thoughts will serve as an inspiration for generations to come.
V.R.Sudarshan, a senior Congress leader who also spoke, said it is the onerous responsibility of each and every one of us to strive for peace and harmony and follow the Gandhian path of non-violence.
Ibrahim Kodijal, MUDA Chairman, Mithun Rai, District Youth Congress President, Ivan D’Souza, MLC and others were present.
