"I have served in the police department for 33 years with transparency. After retirement, we have been treated as useless buffaloes.” Gowda rued.

“The media is very strong and plays a vital role in giving justice to the needy in the society, on the other hand powerful and well equipped police officials are unable to do it. If the entire family cannot get medical assistance, let couples get the medical assistance", Gowda elaborated the flight of the retired.

The Flag Day would always assist in recognizing the committed service that the force renders to the society, said Western range IGP Amrit Paul while delivering the presidential address.

Amrit Paul also said that a memorandum has been submitted to the government with high recommendation to provide medical assistance and canteen facilities to the retired officers.

As many as 63 police personnel who retired in the year 2014-15 were supposed to be honoured on the occasion, but only four retired police officers were present, and they were honoured on the occasion.

Most of the retired officials boycotted the Police Flag Day function for neglecting their service to the force and ill treatment after the retirement.
