Ramanatha Rai capable of handling even CM post, says Ivan

Mangaluru, July 28,2017 : "DK District in-charge Minister and State Minister for Forest B Ramanatha Rai is capable of even handling  the chief minister’s post. No one can question his commitment to the society,"  said Ivan D’Souza, MLC and Chief Whip of State Legislative Council.

Addressing a press meet at his office here on July 28, Friday, Ivan reacted sharply as above in response to a statement from BJP leader Jagadish Shettar on reports of Ramnatha Rai’s name doing the rounds for the home portfolio, "The Congress need not learn any lesson from the BJP. Minister Rai can handle any post. He is a secular man who can take along all communities.  The BJP instead of poking its nose in the internal matters of the Congress  should worry about its own problems," he said.

To a question on the road naming controversy, Ivan said the matter would be settled amicably by the DK in-charge minister by convening a meeting of representatives from both sides. He said he has already suggested to name the road upto Aloysius College as Aloysius College road and the stretch from the Central Library to the Ambedkar Circle as Mulki Sunder Ram Shetty road.
