Ramanath Rai asks officials for speedy development works in Bantwal

Mangaluru Sep 13, 2016: District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai asked the officials to speed up the work on multi village drinking water project being constructed at Sangabettu village in Bantwal taluk.

Addressing the officials at the review meeting in DC office on September 13 Tuesday Rai overviewed the status of the project. Officials then informed that around 70 percent of the work has been completed, Rai asked the officials to speed up the project. The project intended to provide drinking water to Sangabettu, Chennaithodi, Kukkipadi, Rayee, Panjikallu and Arala Gram Panchayats.

Discussion was also held on a multipurpose stadium being proposed at the Benjanapadavu in Ammunje village in Bantwal taluk. Revenue officials then informed about some technical problems on eight acres of land which is alloted for the stadium.

Rai asked Deputy Commissioner Dr K G Jagadeesha to set-right the problems at the earliest. The multipurpose stadium comprises 400 meter track, basket ball court, pavilion, office room among others.

Discussions were also held on Panje Mangesh Rao Bhavan in Bantwal which is planned to construct at the cost of Rs 5 crore, in the sprawling area of 4.10 acres of land, Ambedkar Bhavan in Bantwal at the cost of Rs 1.5 crore and a KSRTC bus stand at B C Road. The officials were asked to prepare Detailed Project Report (DPR) for speedy construction of all projects during the meeting.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Kumar and Information Officer Khader Shah were present.

The people of Bantwal are facing a lot of traffic problem s . As the work of service roads connecting to the city are in very bad condition . The Bantwal city seems to be messed up.

First the work of the roads have to be completed, later concentrate on the Stadiums and on other things Mr Rai.
