Volunteers cleaned Nanthoor Main circle which was full of weeds and mud. The circle which stand like an entrance to Mangalore city was like an eye sore due to poor maintenance. The weeds were removed using grass cutting machine and the mud and other garbage were removed using JCB & tipper. The circle adorns a beautiful look now.
Almost three road dividers along the National Highway were cleaned by the volunteers nad students from Govt. First Grade College off the long grass and weeds. Garbage that was dumped in the area were also removed by the volunteers.
The Bus shelter near Nanthoor Circle wore an ugly look due to the posters stuck on the walls and the garbage dumped in the shelter. Volunteers washed the bus shelter, removed the unwanted posters, cleaned and painted the shelter giving a much needed face lift.
Volunteers also distributed handbills on Swacch Mangaluru Abhiyan to generate awareness among the localites in the area.
Publicity is not needed but Awareness among the locals is must.
"Cleanliness is next to Godliness"the saying is always true. Maintaining cleanliness is a key to good health. Every individual has to participate in the Swacch Bharath only then the mission will be successful.
We are happy to see the volunteers taking personnel interest in maintaining the cleanliness of the city. It is a duty of every citizen to keep it clean. Stop littering waste and urinating at the public places.
