Mangaluru, August 11, 2019: Tickets for flights between Bengaluru and Mangaluru have gone up to Rs.14,000 to 18,000 one way for today from the earlier price of Rs.2,500 to 5,000 amid heavy downpour in the state.
In Chikamagalur, Charmadi, Shiradi Ghat, Kottegehara - Kalasa - Horanadu and Mudigere- Sakaleshpur roads remain closed for vehicular traffic. From Davangere 4 buses were cancelled and 2 vehicles were held up at Mangalore bus stand. Another landslide was also reported between Jayapura and Koppa, for which road clearance work is underway.
Thoose who are travelling to Mangalore from Bangalore sholud take Mysore route via Hunasuru, Periyapattana, Siddapur and Madikeri route.
The heavy rains lashing the southern states have hit train operations for the fourth consecutive day on Sunday in Kerala, leading to the cancellation of several trains while many are partially cancelled and some are diverted.
As many as 20 trains have been cancelled under the Palakkad Division alone. Railway tracks have been damaged between several routes. The cancellation of trains in large numbers will again affect the movement of people from flood affected areas as roads have also been damaged.
The ten trains which will remain cancelled till August 23 are - train number 16515 Yesvantpur-Karwar express, train number 16516 Karwar- Yesvantpur express, train number 16511/16513 KSR Bengaluru to Kannur/Karwar express, train number 16517/16523 KSR Bengaluru to Kannur/Karwar via Mysuru express, train number 16512/16514 Kannur/Karwar to KSR Bengaluru express, train number 16518/16524 Kannur/Karwar to KSR Bengaluru via Mysuru express, train number 16575 Yesvantpur to Mangaluru Jn express, train number 16576 Mangaluru Jn to Yesvantpur express, train number 16585 Yesvantpur to Mangaluru Central express and train number 16586 Yesvantpur to Mangaluru Central express.
