Speaking to reporters at the BJP office here on June 23, Friday,  Yeddyurappa accused Rai of highhandness. Rai is  misusing  his power, complained Yeddyurappa  and urged the Chief Minister to drop him from the cabinet. He said Rai’s remarks  revealed his intentions to resort to vote bank politics.

Yeddyurappa also took a dig at the ambitious Anna Bhagya scheme of the state government by stating that the Centre provided Rs 7300 crores towards the scheme. Even 1.6 lakh metric tonnes of wheat is supplied by the Centre, Yeddyurappa claimed and demanded that  the pictures of PM Modi need to be displayed in fair price shops for contributing to this project.

People should know that the scheme was possible with the help of the Centre, Yeddyurappa said adding  the  rice which Centre  purchases at Rs 32 per kg is distributed to states at Rs 3 per kg while wheat purchased for Rs 22 per kg is supplied at Rs  2 per kg, he added.

On farm loan waiver by the Congress government, he said farm loans upto Rs 25000 had been waived during his tenure as Deputy CM and during the tenure of Shettar as CM.
