Radio Sarang presents 14-hr Independence special RJ

Mangalore,Aug 15: Community radio Sarang 107.8FM will present 14 hours non-stop Radio Jockey ( RJ) marathon by RJ Sudeep Shenoy, the host of Namma Mangalore Namma Voice, on Aug 15 from 6.30 a.m. – 8.30 p.m. 

RJ Sudeep will be anchoring all the programmes on Aug 15, live on air without any breaks in various languages like English, Kannada, Tulu, Konkani, and Hindi.  

Director of Sarang Fr. Richard Rego SJ said, “It is a milestone for the radio which has recently celebrated its first anniversary and recently increased its broadcast schedule to 14 hours daily, which in the highest among community radios in India.”   

“This marathon is pretty close to my heart, not for the reason that it is going to be a record but rather for the fact that I will be having a platform to educate and instill a sense of national pride among the citizens of India and the youth,” said RJ Sudeep.

He also adds that conducting such a marathon is not an easy task, and though many commercial FM stations do it, the work involved there is much lesser compared to community stations, which are expected to create content with value rather than just queuing up and playing film songs. RJ Sudeep says his role models are RJ Avinash from Big FM and RJ Vishwas from Radio Mirchi, who have conducted lengthy marathons before.  

People of Mangalore are requested to take full use of this marathon by tuning into Radio Sarang at 107.8FM.
