Rachana demands resumption of M’lore –Kuwait flight services

Mangalore, Feb 15, 2014: The Air India Express has drawn flak for suspending the Mangalore-Kuwait direct flights. On February 14, Friday, Rachana, Catholic Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised a protest in front of the Air India Express office at Lalbagh.

Speaking on the occasion, Ivan D’Souza, President of Rachana said it was highly uncalled for on the part of Air India Express to suspend the flight services to Kuwait from Mangalore and pointed out that the direct flight service was a boon to  the people of coastal district.

He also warned that Rachana will pursue the matter further if Air India Express does not heed to the demand to resume flight services on the route.

Louis Lobo, President of Konkan Overseas Returnees Welfare Association, Elias Sanctis, Vice President of the Association, John Monteiro, General Secretary of Rachana and others participated in the protest.

The protestors also submitted a memorandum to Air India Express Manager Nagesh Shetty. Speaking on the occasion, Shetty said the Air India Express would take note of the request. Rachana has also submitted a memorandum to Union Ministers Veerappa Moily and Oscar Fernandes.
