RTI activist murder: Deshpremi Okkuta took out protest march demanding arrests of culprits

Mangaluru May 2, 2016: Deshapremi Sanghatanegala Okkuta, an association of students, Dalits, women activists and NGOs took out a protest march from RTI Activist Baliga’s residence at Kalakunj to City Police Commissioner’s office demanding immediate arrest of Naresh Shenoy,the  prime suspect and others involved in the murder of Vinayak Baliga on Monday, May 2, 2016.

The protest march was flagged off by Vinayak Baliga’s father Ramachandra Baliga by handing over the national flag to Prof. Narendra Nayak. The march came through Kodialbail circle, followed by V T Road to reach Sri Venkatramana temple at Car street.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Addressing to the public and protestors near Sri Venkataramana Temple, Rationalist Prof Narendra Nayak said that it has been over one month since the murder of RTI activist Vinayak Balga and it is utter shame on Mangaluru Police who have failed to arrest the prime suspect Naresh Shenoy and his accomplice. “Police are aware of the where abouts of Dawood Ibrahim and Chota Rajan. They could track and arrest notorious criminals but they could not find where Naresh Shenoy is! Naresh Shenoy who has been absconding since the day of the crime and has applied for anticipatory bail, but the police could not trace him till now!” he added. 

“Vinayak Baliga belongs to GSB Community and a true devotee of Lord Venkataramana but very few number of GSB people raised their voices against the brutal murder of Baliga”. “Who are they afraid off? Why are they not raising voice against a fellow GSB?” Narendra Nayak questioned.

Baliga had questioned a number of builders for violation of rules, keeping in mind the interests of the citizens, he had also questioned the management of the school near by his home because they blocked the road by parking and they had also violated the laws building nearly twice the area that was sanctioned said Narendra Nayak.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Vinayak Baliga’s sister Usha Shenoy alleged that some are spreading rumors about her brother that he was corrupt and was a blackmailer which she says are only a false allegations. Usha prayed to Lord Venkataramana in the presence of all protesters and public seeking justice and to punish the culprits.

Addressing to the protestors at Commissioner office DYFI District President Muneer Katipalla said that Vinayak Baliga was so sincere in his works who is brutally murdered. We have faith in Police Commissioner M Chandrashekar and are sure that he will crack down the culprits and bring them into books. Even the ministers are not bothered to raise their voice. UT Khader and JR Lobo expressed  condolence with crocodile tears he blamed.

Prof. Narendra Nayak and a team of activists met the City Police commissioner and expressed their concern and unhappiness about the slow pace of investigation in the Vinayak Baliga murder case. Commissioner M Chandrashekar assured them speedy investigation and told them that very soon Naresh Shenoy and accomplice will be arrested.
