Giving a talk on ’Right to Information (RTI) and harassment at workplace’, under the aegis of the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) here on  March 15, Saturday, he also described the RTI as a priceless asset of the nation.

He also referred to the Mithra Hegde case of Mangalore, secret letter of Dayanidhi Maran to the Prime Minister and Priyanka Gandhi’s visit to Vellore Jail and added all this was  possible due to RTI.

Touching upon prevention of harassment at work place, he said the new law which is effective in this regard from December last year requires the formation of an Internal Complaint Committee by an employer who has over ten employees. In the event of an employer having less number of staff, then any complaints would be  heard by the Local Complaint Committee headed by the DC, he said.

Mohammad Ameen, President of KCCI, Ram Mohan Pai Maroor,  Jeevan Saldanha and others were present on the occasion.
