Puttur May 16, 2016: A gang of thieves burgled the house of K R Acharya, an Advocate from Puttur on May 14, Saturday located at Tenkila in Puttur.
It is said that Acharaya and his family had left to Hyderabad on May 13 Friday in their absence; house was looted by burglars the very next day. The house maid who came to the house on Sunday morning noticed it and immediately informed the matter to Acharya’s brother-in-law Satish. The complaint was lodged in Puttur police station by Sathish.
The thieves gained entry by breaking open the door lock of the rear side of the house. The cupboards and the wardrobes locks were broken A huge loss is suspected. The exact value of cash and goods stolen will emerge only after Acharya’s family is back.
The suspicion rise in people as the theft takes place on weekends noticing the absence of the owner of the house. It is certain that the thieves get prompt information about the families leaving home for short or long periods, going by the fact that this is the eighth theft during the last one year in the town.
The investigation is going on in Puttur police station.
